STAYTON, Ore.–  Regis’ Clara Persons has been on a tear to open up her High School career, stepping in as a shooter and contributing for a Regis team that improved to 7-2 on the season following their 56-21 victory over Scio.  Scoring 18 points to help the Rams open up the Regis Holiday Classic following their tough Westside Christian Queens of the Court Championship Game defeat to De La Salle North Catholic last Wednesday.

“We’re starting off the season strongly, we’re getting the wins.  We couldn’t have a better start to the season,” Persons said of the start to the season.  “Just keep working, keep working hard and putting in the effort at practice.”

The Rams set the tone early in the win, jumping out to a 21-7 lead and led 26-12 by the halftime break over the Loggers.  For the frosh, Persons scored 13 of her 19 points in the first half with the squad looking to pick up their eighth win of the season against Crosshill Christian at 4:45pm.

“I’ve put in a lot of work so it means a lot to me.  It’s great coming in and being a freshman getting to play on Varsity.  It’s all I’ve wanted and I’ve worked for it,” said Persons.
