INDEPENDENCE, Ore.– It was a good way to start the last week before the real work begins with try-outs and the season with the Central High School Boys Basketball team hosting Kids Camp. Monday was the first day and about eighty kids were in attendance, going station-to-station working on drills with members of the Panthers Basketball team running the drills.
“Central has a good tradition of supporting kids in their youth sports, having these many kids is awesome. It’s fun getting in touch with them before our season starts. It’s a great turnout,” said Head Coach Dean Sanderson of the Camp.
“I love teaching the little kids and teaching them all the skills that I learned as a kid. I’m just excited, I’m just pumped for the basketball season. It’s just fun giving back to the kids and just pumped for the season,” adds Michael Young.
The camp continues on Tuesday from 5-6:30pm. The first official day of practice is November 14 and Central’s first game of the year will be December 2 at Cascade.
