KEIZER, Ore.–  For the last time this season, Sasha Thayer, Gurn Yoe, Miranda Brankley, Makenna Logan and Mia Logan got to play at McNary High School as members of the McNary Girls Lacrosse Club Friday night against Corvallis.

“We were just really excited to get the win.  We definitely want to win,” Thayer said of the game.

Within the first ten minutes of the first half, the Celtics bolt out to a 4-1 lead and led 5-1 entering the halftime break.  The Spartans struck again in the second half to make it 5-2, but McNary kept up their energy throughout the game.  Scoring twice themselves in the final half to ensure they end their home schedule with a win, winning the game 7-3.

Thayer and Makenna Logan each had a ‘brace’, two-goal performance in the win Friday as the squad wraps up the regular season Tuesday at West Albany.  Wrapping up Willamette Valley Conference play on the road against the Bulldogs at 7pm.

“It was so exciting,” Makenna Logan said of the win.  “It was just so exciting to see us come out and play for us in our last home game  We were ready to come out to fight and win.  We showed that and we worked so hard in practice all week, we were ready to win.  Everyone fought.  We should keep the same energy and maybe a little more (against West Albany).”
