TURNER, Ore.– The dominance of Cascade’s number one and number two doubles squads continued Thursday afternoon when the Cougar Girls Tennis team hosted Estacada.
The number one doubles team, consisting of Ariel Tobiasson and Marilyn Suvlzle, won their match 6-0, 6-1 while the number-two double team of Natalee Federico and Kenna Coleman won their match 6-0, 6-0 to close out the week.
“We’re just playing our bet no matter who we’re playing. The best thing that we did was just playing our game and not playing their game, staying to our level and keeping that throughout the match,” Federico said.
The tightest match for the duo squads has been a non-league match with Silverton earlier in the season, but as their 4A/3A/2A/1A Special District 2 schedule draws to a close going into May, there’s still some work to do ahead. Especially with Marist Catholic coming up on Monday at 4pm.
“This match (today) kind of gave us a look for Marist because they’re going to be one of the best competition we’ll see so far. So I think this kind of gives us a good jump-start going into that match,” Tobiasson said. “As long as we get all of our serves in and we don’t double-fault, we’ll be pretty good.”
