Olys Bats Lead To Win Over South Albany

SPRINGFIELD, Ore.–  Somewhere, Jobu approved of and accepted the offering for the Sprague High School baseball team’s bats.

Their nine hits in their 21-1 Springfield Spring Break Tournament opener against South Albany Wednesday afternoon, 11 runs were produced.  Brandon Stinnett and Chris Rogers led the RBI category with four and three RBI’s respectively.

Both had multi-hit games along with Grant Strother also had a mulit-hit game with two hits for the junior catcher.  Setting the tone for the remainder of the tournament at the Hamlin Sports Complex moving into the two breakfast games that the Olympians have Thursday and Friday in Eugene.

“We did what we had to do and put the ball in play with some pace/  Next guy up and swing for base hits and not trying to do much,” “(Tomorrow) we got to keep with the same approach and play.  Everyone’s swining a pretty good bat right now, so we just have to keep it going right now.

“Live up the middle of the field.  Just keep doing what we’re doing and be confident.”

Wyatt Connally pitched three innings with two strikeouts before Greyson Gall and Brady Stoops each got an inning of work during the fourth and fifth innings respectively.  Sprague plays Elmira Thursday at 9am.
