SILVERTON, Ore.– Silverotn came out clicking on all cylinders Tuesday night against Central, jumping out to a 34-12 halftime lead behind 17 first half points by Paige Traeger in their 70-28 victory.  The Foxes 12th win-in-a-row and 14th overall this season as they’ll have a week to prepare for a tough test ahead with West Albany next Tuesday back at Silverton High School.

“It’s really good for us because at times we start off strong and then we let it fizzle away.  This time it was good because we stayed with it the whole way,” Traeger said.  “We need to go into (next Tuesday) with the same mindset to win against anybody.  Treat everyone the same and go out there and play our very hardest.”

The Silverton defense held the Panther offense to two first quarter points before Sadie Wendring and Peyton Foreman each scored four in the second quarter to get Central into the double-figures entering the halftime break.  The Panthers couldn’t shake their sluggish start as they now turn their focus to Corvallis Friday at home before hosting North Salem on Tuesday.

“I think the way we can improve is talking more,” Foreman starts.  “The games we just played were really big games as well and that just boost our confidence and I think if we just continue to play hard…and it’ll help us with Corvallis with how hard we need to be working throughout.”

Ashley Barba led Central with seven points, all in the second half.  Traeger finished with 20 points and Kyleigh Brown scored a game-high 21 points for the Foxes.
