GERVAIS, Ore.– Coming off of their physical, tough games against Colton and Western Christian, Gervais came out and set the tone from the get-go against Culver in their 50-15 Tri-River Conference match-up Monday afternoon. Leading 18-4 after the first quarter in their 13th-straight win and 14th overall.
“I think we had a really good game tonight. We executed everything really well and it was a lot less physical than the past two games and that was really nice to come in and get everything done,” Izzy Boyd said. “Our passing tonight was a little wacky. We got to work on our defensive communication as a whole and executing some more on offense because we have a hard time in the half-court sometimes. That can definitely be improved upon.”
Boyd led the Cougar charge with 19 points. Olivia Boyd had 11, all in the first half as the Cougars led 34-11 at the halftime break.

Ava Sellers contributed six points with seven Gervais players recording at least two points in the home victory over the Bulldogs. Gervais will have four days off before traveling to Mill City Saturday with Santiam before traveling to Sheridan to play the Spartans next Monday in Sheridan.
The rest will come in handy as they recover and work through the things they need to work on entering their next two games with the Wolverines and Sheridan on the road.
“It’ll be nice. We can work on more in practice because we didn’t have a practice in between Western (Christian) and today, so having more practices going into who we’re going to play is going to be nice,” Olivia Boyd said.Tip-off against Santiam will be at 6pm with the tip-off against Sheridan scheduled for 730pm.
