DAYTON, Ore.–  McKay Girls dominated the Dayton Invitational with Sharlyn Gonzalez (100), Lizeth Chavez (105), Madylin Xiong (110) as they edged McNary 115-88 in the team results.  The Celtics saw Kaylynn Villalobos (120) and Caitlin Saldivar (170) won their weight classes and Kelsey Schmidt (170) and Kaliyanei Hill (125) finished second.  McNary’s Yared Calderon and McKay’s Marlene Ramirez won the High School Mix divisions as the Celtics (seven) and Scots (13) combined for 20 placers.

Kennedy’s Alexandra Geschwill (120) finished third and the Trojans’ Kira Boitano was second at 110.  Dayton’s Tana Williams won the Girls 130-pound division.  The Pirates Adalynn Williams was second at 155.  Willamina/Fall City’s Zoe Brewer was second at 100 pounds and Annija Sproge was sixth at 120.  Esmeralda Tapia-Bravo was second in the Mix 2 division for Willamina/Falls City.

Boys

McNary set the tone in the Dayton Invitational Saturday, finishing first in a field of 19 teams with a team score of 241.  Max Blanco (113), Jordan Orr (132), Hunter Ruberto (152) and Josh Friesen (160) won their weight brackets.  Jackson Wainwright (106), Damian Hernandez (126) finished second. 12 Celtics placed.

Hunter Mersch of Jefferson finished third at 113, Juan Lorenzo was fourth at 120.  Spyre Nelson was second at 182 pounds for Willamina/Falls City.  Dayton’s Jimmy Larsen (138) and David Bowlin (195) went one-two their weights. Ryan Bates at 160 won the 160JV bracket for the Pirates and Kaiden Bell was sixth at 145.

McKay’s Ismael Flores (120), Gavin Harris (182) won their divisions and Carlos Ramirez Bustamante won the 160 JV Division.
