TURNER, Ore.– It was a swift substitution with 1A Country Christian stepping in to face Cascade Tuesday night when the 4A Cougars game with Gladstone was canceled.
But nonetheless it was still a tough challenge with the Cougars of Molalla, ranked first in the Coaches Poll, came in 3-0 with a quality win against Top-10 Gervais (2A) on their resume.
“We didn’t know much about them, but we knew they were a tough team in 1A and Gladstone is a Top-10 in 4A so we just prepared for it like that. We had to come out prepared and ready to go,” Kenna Coleman said.

Cascade came out firing offensively in their 54-39 victory over Country Christian. Hitting on six first half three-pointers, two from each Coleman and Ariel Tobiasson with Emma Clinton and Abby Jeppsen each contributing a three each to push the Cougars ahead 31-17 at the halftime break.
“It felt good to show what we can do because our shooting game in the past has been off. We shoot during practice and we get a lot of reps, it really hasn’t come out in a game yet and this was the first game that it really came out,” Coleman said.
Coleman finished with 14 points, Tobiasson contributed a game-high 18 points and Jeppsen scored seven in the win. Cascade host Molalla Thursday at 7pm.
