TURNER, Ore.–
The McKay Girls Wrestling and McNary’s Girls Wrestling team’s had strong showings at the Perry Burlison Wrestling Tournament. The Scots saw team Sarahi Chavez (100), Angelina Paniagua (110) and Marilyn Mentado (130), Brenda Ceja (145) while the Celtics Alex Stanton (125) and Caitlin Saldivar (170) finished second.
McNary’s Desiree Brown (190), Kaylynn Villalobos (125) and McKay’s Marlene Ramirez (145), Jaleata Rodriguez (135) and Anabel Rivera (120) finished third as the Scots won the girls division with 236 points. McNary was fourth as a team at 122, Cascade ninth, Central and Stayton were 18th and 19th respectively in a field of 21 teams.
Cascade’s Averie Stueve (135) brought home a victory. Krysta Kamstra (115) finished second.
Central’s Issabell Branske (100) was fourth and Stayton’s Isabel Morgan (115) was sixth.

Boys
The Cascade Cougar Boys Wrestling team finished fifth as a team with 99.5 points as Cascade’s Lance Van Hoose won the 170 bracket with a 8-6 decision over Scappoose’s Trey Dieringer and Teagan Allen of the Cougars won the 285 pound bracket with a2:58 mark of the match.
Stayton’s Mauro Michel (132), South Salem’s Rene Cruz (138) brough home bracket Title victories as the Eagles (81 team points) and Saxons (80.5) finished sixth and seventh in the team points.
Central’s Ethan Dunigan was second at 160, falling to Thurston’s Hunter Harwood 5-2 in the Title Match. McKay’s Omar Sanchez at 220. Sanchez fell to South Salem’s Trevor Goldman via pin at the 56 second mark. The Saxons Aundre Chacon (113) finished third.
