WILSONVILLE, Ore.—The annual Wilsonville Night Race returned Friday night as athlete’s from around the State came to Wilsonville to run in the 3,000-meter race (roughly 1.864 miles).
On the boys side, the South Salem boys went one, four and five in the 3,000-meter Boys Novice B race. Copper Brown won the race in 11:00.15, Bernard Bailey and Brannok McElravy finished fourth and fifth-pace respectively with sub-12-minute races.
West Salem’s Garrett Fenske (10:11.47), South Salem’s Elliot Carmichael (10:29.22) and Keplan Barram (10:40.1) and Silverton’s JD Arthur (10:44.78) finished third, fifth, seventh and ninth in the 3,000-meter Freshman race. Sprague’s Brody Piper was 11th and the Foxes AJ Aker finished 15th.
The Titans Jack Meier won the 3,000-meter boys sophomore race in 9:10.59.
The Olympian’s Tucker Piper (9:06.60), West Salem’s Brady Bliven (9:07.11) and the Saxons Kevin Wilson (9:10.89) went ninth, eleventh and fourteen in the 3,000-meters Boys Junior race.
On the girl’s side, McKay and South Salem each fielded four girls in the 3,000-meter Girls senior race. The Saxons Zoey Hock and Paige Trautman finished ninth and 12th respectively. Sydney Haines finished tenth for the Scots with a time of 11:02.27, Stephanie Urenda was the second-highest McKay runner at 27th.
Sprague’s Sara Abbott finished fourth in the 3,000-meter Girls junior race with a time of 10:50.22 and the Scots Kaydence Nguyen finished ninth with a time of 11:25.54. Scio’s Athena Lau was 13th in the junior race. Silverton’s Lauren Ortega was 39th in the 3,000-meter Girls sophomore race with a time of 13:03.96
Kennedy’s Rachel Kintz won the 3,000-meter Girls Novice A race with a time of 12:21.23, West Salem’s Keira Cook and Charlotte Haworth went two and four in the race.
South Salem’s Chole Kolb was 14th in the 3K Girls Frosh race with a 12:17.16 time. Silverton’s Sarah Kurhns finished 33rd with a time of 13.26.20
