BEAVERTON, Ore.– The Dallas Lady Dragons 16U squad slowly came into their own in their 16U State Opener against the Indians Fastpitch squad.
After surrendering an early run, the Lady Dragons scored ten of the game’s next 11 runs as incoming Willamina Sophomore Laney Deloe recorded a two-hit, five-inning pitching performance in the 10-2 victory on Friday.
“The first inning-and-a-half…they were low energy, no one was really in the game. As we went through, we started to build our energy up and started to get excited about our plays and cheering each other on,” Deloe said. “We just built each other up and we just kept growing. It passed around and kept going.”

Their energy continued into their nightcap game against the Lake Oswego Renegades-Komitor, building a 5-1 lead going into the third inning. But a ten-run rally in the fourth inning by the Renegades spelled the difference in the 11-5 Lake O win to close out the first day of State.
Deloe added 3RBI’s to her pitching performance. Kadence Morrison struck out four in three-and-a-third innings and Emmaline Nicholson struck out three in an inning-and-a-third as the Dragons returned Saturday at 3pm.
Awaiting their opposition to come through the morning games to play being two wins on Saturday away from reaching Sunday’s games.
