With the season drawing to a close, a few teams still are playing. From Stayton to North Marion. Central to Sprague. Here’s a round-up of Wednesday’s action.
6A Baseball
Sprague used a seven-run fourth inning to help set the tone in their 10-5 win over West Salem. Rory Lampe drove in 4RBIs. BJ Amador struck out four in three innings in the Salem World Series.
Central/Kings Valley 15, South Salem 4 in six innings. Will Merritt led the Panthers with 4RBI’s and Riley Elliott contributed another 3RBI’s with Central finishing 8-9 on the year. Gabe Johnson led the Saxons by going 3-for-4, Andy Ruiz struck out two in two innings while driving in 2RBI’s as the Saxons finish 6-11.
4A
Stayton’s Nicholas Frith went 2-for-3 and Connor Hollenbeck drove in 2RBis in the Eagles season-ending 8-2 loss to Marist. Stayton finished the year 9-6
North Marion’s Will Van Vlek struck out six in four innings and went 1-for-2 with 2RBIs in the Huskies tough 11-3 loss to Hidden Valley on the road at South Umpqua High School in the 4A State Semi-Finals. The Huskies will be playing for third-place Saturday.

6A Softball
McNary’s Taylor Ebbs and Kaylee Schwab each went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the Celtics 11-5 win over West Salem. The Titans Maison Searle had a 2-run Home Run in the Seventh inning with West Salem going 10-8 on the year.
Central used a six-run third inning to set the tone against South Salem in the Panthers 6-1 win over the Saxons as the Panthers finish 8-8. South Salem’s Hallie Olson had a solo Home Run in The second inning.
Ruby Earhart went 2-for-3 and Kadence Morrison struck out seven in Dallas’ 2-1 defeat to Lebanon The Dragons finish the year 9-7.
