DALLAS, Ore.– Base-running and strong pitching helped South Salem Monday afternoon at Dallas High School. With six stolen bases, three from Andy Ruiz, and timely hitting to go with an eight-strikeout performance from Tyler Minney, the Saxons pulled away from the Dragons 7-3 on the road.
“It was really nice because to see my team on the basepath, scoring runs gives me a little bit more confidence. If I make a mistake, it’s ok, I know I got my team to score more runs,” Minney said as South closes out the season Wednesday. “It sucks that it’s ending, but I still want to play as hard as I can so I can remember my last couple of games in High School.”
Dallas’ Chase Brushe struck out six in six innings for the Dragons. Aiden Henrickson drove in the lone RBi for Dallas.
