1A-6A Baseball/Softball Round-Up

Central’s Brandon Komes threw a one-hitter, Stayton’s Cody Leming threw a no-no. West Salem-South Salem softball and Salem Academy-Santiam baseball pitchers put up some impressive numbers as teams took advantage of the mid-week sun Wednesday afternoon.

Here’s a round-up.

6A

Brody McMullen and Evan Faust combine for a five-inning no-hitter against South Salem in their 12-0 win over the Saxons.  Crosby Albee hit a two-run home run and drove in 3RBI’s, Ben Nagel also had 3RBI’s.  South Salem’s Andy Ruiz struck out one in four innings.

McNary’s Aaron Nease struck out five in three-and-two-third innings.  Noah Fischer and Gunner Smedema each had a hit each for the Celtics in McNary’s 8-2 defeat to Lebanon.

5A Baseball

Central’s Brandon Komes had five strike outs in the Panthers 13-0 win over North Salem. Justin Girod went 2-3 with a Home Run and 2RBI, Will Merritt also had 2RBI for the Panthers. Chris Harsen from North Salem with the sole hit.

4A

Stayton’s Cody Leming throws a seven-strikeout, five-inning no-hitter as the Eagles mercy rules Woodburn 10- in five.  Brock Hubert went 2-for-3 with 3RBI’s for Stayton.

2A baseball

Kennedy baseball continues to roll, sweeping their doubleheader with Culver 11-1, 11-1 to improve to 14-0 on the season.

Jefferson’s Jace Aguilar led the offensive charge, going 2-for-3 with 3RBI’s in the Lions 12-6 win over Lowell.  Diego Aguilar drove in 2RBI’s for Jefferson as Haden Gough struck out four in two-and-a-third.

Isaiah Sullivan struck out 14 in a near-complete game effort for Salem Academy in their 12-1 win over Santiam.  AJ Weaver and Gaven Lyon struck out a combined 15 for the Wolverines.

Rylan Webster led the Western Christian offense by going 3-for-3 with a Grand Slam in the Pioneers 23-0 win over Sheridan.

1A Baseball

6A Softball

Ellie Martin drove in 3RBI’s on 2-for-3 hitting and Alli Martinez and Hannah Ebner contributed 2RBI’s each in McNary’s 10-5 win over Lebanon.

Sprauge’s Payton Schlag went 1-for-2 with 3RBI’s and struck out three in three innings in the Olympians 20-4 win over McKay.

Rowan Thompson outduels Aliyah Wilsey in South Salem’s 3-2 win over West Salem.  Thompson struck out 12 to Wilsey’s nine as Lily Mills hit in the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh.

5A Softball

Silverton’s Braezen Henderson went 3-for-4 and Olivia Hickam went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the Foxes 8-3 defeat to Corvallis.  The Spartans Holland Jensen drove in 4RBIs and struck out six.

Cascade 18, Sisters 2 in five innings

2A Softball

The Trojan softball team won 8-3 over Gladstone, Hailey Arritola was 4-for-4 with 3RBI’s in the win.

Regis’ Sara Vetter struck out three in four-and-two-third-innings as the Rams fall to Central Linn 11-1 in five innings.  Georgia Bartholomew and Melissa Gonzalez each had a hit for Regis.
