Local Teams from the Greater Salem-area were in competition Saturday at the Amity and Philomath Invitationals. Here are some Highlights from those two meets of the local teams.
Amity Invitational (3A/4A)
Wyatt Hatch won the 100-, 200-meter dashes at the Amity Invite Saturday. Kennan Graham won the High Jump (six-feet) and Javelin (146-feet-2-inches) Amity’s Haley Vanderzanden won the Javelin (93-feet-7-inches) and PR’d in the shot put (36-feet-6.75-inches), winning the event too while finishing second in the Discus.
North Marion’s Hailey Welch won the Triple Jump (30-feet). Dominique Huapeo won the 800-meters. The Huskies 4×100 team of Tony Lewis, Bryce Anderson, Gian Rodriguez and Kaden Anderson won the relay in 47.50. Lewis also won the Triple Jump (38-feet-3.5-inches). North Marion saw Top 5 finishers in 12 events they didn’t bring a win in. The Huskie Boys finished second as a team with 129.5 total team points.
Scio’s Levi Forson PR’d in the 3,000-meters in 10:57.80, winning the event in 1.54 seconds and Carson Geneser PR”d in the Long Jump in 18-feet-2.5-inches. Mariah Adams was second in the 100-meters and third in the 200-meters.

Philomath Invite (4A)
Ashton Williams won the 100-, 200-meter dashes and was part of the 4×100 relay team with Jesus Franco, Thomas Boyer and Lance VanHoose that won the event in 45.72 and by 1.29 seconds. Emma Gates won the High Jump (5-feet-10-inches) and PR in her 100-meter dash win (12.81). Gates also was part of the 4×400 team that won by 24.19 seconds over Stayton. Cascade’s 4×100 girls relay also won by 1.30 seconds (53-flat). Ethan Newton (300-meters, 42.54 PR). Eli Atiyeh (Pole Vault, 8-feet-6-inches). Anna Wilson won the Pole Vault with a jump of 8-feet-six inches and Ashley Fraser won the 400-meter dash in 1:02.89.
Stayton’s Connor Reidman finished second in the Shot Put (39-feet-7-inches), won the Javelin (144-feet-5-inches) Maddy Mitzel PR in her second-place finish in the 800-meters (2:29.40). Hope Bridge was third in the 1,500-meters and Sophia Casarez was fifth in the Triple Jump.
Woodburn’s Carter Anderson won the Triple Jump in 39-feet-6.75-inches. The Bulldogs Yahaira Rodgriguez finished the 100-meters in 13.73 and Nayeli Zepeda PR’d in the 400-meter in 1:09.61, finishing fourth in the race.
