1A-6A Softball Round-Up from around Salem:
6A/5A Softball
Abbi Covalt went 3-for-4 with an RBI in McNary’s 18-0 win over North Salem. Heather Ebner hit the first home run on the Celtics new softball field. Karaline Pfeifer, Kaitlyn Horn and Perla Gallegos collected a hit in for the Vikings.
South Salem edges Central 9-8. Naomi Galenti hit a Grand Salem for the Saxons, who won their third-in-a-row.
Mila Perez struck out seven and Jordan Sheppard drove in 4RBI’S in Silverton’s 20-0 win over McKay in three innings. J. Duran and Z. Eads collected hits for the Scots.
4A
Hannah Walliman struck out two in two innings and went 2-for-4 with 2RBI’s. Kaliee Bode went 1-for-2 with 2RBI’s to improve to 5-2 on the year.
Stayton defeats Woodburn 15-0.
2A
Kennedy’s Jenna Hopkins had an eight-strikeout Perfect Game against Regis in the Trojans 15-0, three-inning win. Hailey Arritola and Elise Suing had home runs in the game.
Payton Saucy went off for 8RBIs on 3-for-4 hitting for St. Paul in their 18-3 win over Jefferson
Colton defeated Gervais softball 16-0. Olivia Boyd lone hit for the Cougars and Marisol Ayala had four strikeouts for Gervais.

Baseball
6A/5A Baseball
Ben Nagel goes yard, two-run home run in the top of the third as West Salem defeated Dallas 10-3. The Titans Evan Faust struck out eight in five innings. The Dragons Chase Brushe went 2-for-3 and drove in 2RBI’s in the defeat for Dallas and Asher Nicholson drove in 2RBI’s in the defeat.
Central over South Salem 7-6. Malachi McCormick struck out 10 for the Panthers in five-and-two-third-innings. Andy Ruiz drove in 2RBI’s for the Saxons in the defeat.
4A
Stayton’s Eli Brown hits the game-winning run against Philomath in Stayton’s 4-3 win Monday afternoon. Caleb Hollenbeck struck out two in four innings while driving in a run on the mound as Danner Salisbury led the offensive charge going 2-for-2 with an RBI.
North Marion hangs on to defeat Gladstone 5-3 to remain undefeated at 7-0. The two teams meet up again Wednesday in Gladstone.
2A/1A
Tim Dwire and Haden Gough each drove in 2RBI’s in Jefferson’s 12-2 win over Lowell. Dwire also struck out three in two innings for the Lions, who won their third game of the year.
Western Christian’s Owen Stalnaker and Milano combined to strike out nine Regis batters in the Pioneers 5-4 victory over Regis. The Rams saw Max Eaton struck out six in six innings and Kollin Schumacher went 2-for-4 at the plate. The Pioneers are 5-0.
