Saturday XC Round-Up: Eagles Place Second And Third

The Stayton Girls Cross Country team finished second in the Husky Invitational Saturday afternoon in Sweet Home, five points off the pace behind Philomath 40-25.  Hope Bridge (fifth), Maddy Mitzel (sixth) and Sarah Wolf (ninth) finished in the Top 10. 

The Eagles Boys Cross Country team finished third as Brenden Del Grande and Brody Ramseyer placed in the Top 10, finishing seventh and ninth respectively.  Tanner Manning finished 13th.

Cascade’s Abigail Scott was the lone Varsity runner for the Cougars, finishing 22nd.  Scott Christiansen was 31st as the highest Cascade finisher on the Boys Varsity side.

Woodburn’s Myranda Marquez finished third as her and Caitlynn Spencer represented the Bulldogs in the girl’s race Saturday.  The Woodburn guy’s team finished fifth in the Invitational with Angel Marquez (21st) and Karl Price (25th) being the highest Bulldog guys to finish.

The Amity Brennan Hake finished 30th in the boy’s race with a time of 22:31.9 and Crosshill Christian’s Jameson Campbell was 43rd with a time of 24:19.6.

Middle School

The Amity Middle School boy’s cross-country team finished sixth in team scores with a combined score of 122.  Evan Hake finished 15th with a time of 14:53.8 as the highest finisher. Kiyan Vrell (29th), Cammeron Russell (34th), Mason Rosenast (35th) and Simon Dick (46th) round out the Top 5 finishers for the squad Saturday.

The AMS Girls Cross Country team saw Daniela Barrios finish 14th and Settelly Roberts finish 28th in the 3K race.  Western Christian’s Kali Ellis won the girl’s race.
