Stayton Cross Country Invitational
Stayton had won the girls race as Hope Bridge (fourth), Maddy Mitzel (fifth) and Sarah Wolf (sixth) finished sixth as the Eagles finished with 36 team points. Regis’ Julia McLoughlin won the girls race at 21:22, Scio’s Athena Lau (22:11) was second and Myranda Marquez of Woodburn was fourth with a time of 22:29 to round-up the fifth-place.
Sweet Home edge Stayton for the Boys race 38 points to 44, placing four in ten to the Eagles two. The Eagles Brenden Del Grande won the race in 19:08 with the Bulldogs Angel Marquez second at 19:13. The Huskies Jacob Sieminski were third and fourth and Brody Ramseyer of Stayton was fifth.
Cascade’s Arlen Kunezi was the highest finisher for the Cougars on the boy’s side with a time of 20:25, finishing 11th. Ashley Fraser and Gabreilla Floyd were 15th, 16th on the girl’s side.
Kennedy’s Nora Brenden finished 17th with a time of 26:38 in the girls race. Santiam’s Eve Storm was 44th with a time of 39:30.
Salem-Keizer Dual Meet #2
At Whiteaker High School Saturday. McKay Boys and Girls defeat North Salem 23-33 in boys and 20-41 in girls. Jose Miranda won the guys dual in 19:34 as the Scots went one, two, three. The Vikings Isaac Musser and Aiden Mashos were four and five. Jazmine Liebl won the girls race in 19:36 for McKay. Sydney Haines (McKay), Isabel Swain (North), Kaydence Nguyen (McKay) and Elizabeth Hernandez (North) rounded out the Top 5.
West Salem boys defeat Sprague 23-37. Tucker Piper of the Olympians won the race, edging Jack Meier of the Titans by a second 17:06 and 17:07 respectively. Olvia Moye won the girls duel with Sprauge, Sara Abbott was second for the Olys.
South Salem over McNary in their duals as the Saxons Boys went one through four and Zoey Hock and Paige Trautman went one, two in the girl’s race. Aspynn Westby (third) and Benjamin Standley (fifth) were the highest placing Celtics in the dual.
