SALEM, Ore.– The Valley Track Club has kicked off the first-annual Virtual Run, Throw, Jump competition, inviting all Middle School and High School athlete’s to sign up and join the competition for prizes.
Open to all Middle School and High School athletes, the purpose behind it is to keep the Track and Field Community uplifted said VTC Founder and Director Ron Koskondy.
“We’re trying to keep the area track and field community spirits uplifted,” he starts. “Our race for registrations the Virtual Run Throw Jump event, will lead to our ability to communicate about things we have planned once, and if, facilities open up. We have some ideas that will allow only our registered member athletes first opportunity to participate in; camps clinics, seminars, recruitment assistance and much more.”
Pre-registration started on May 2 and has been split up between each category, the running events, throwing events and the jumping events. The pre-registration for the running events started on May 2 and will run through May 9. Throw follows that May 10 through May 16 and the Jumps, May 17 through May 23.
Currently they have kids from Walker Middle School and Western Christian at the middle school level. At the High School level: Dallas, Gervais, Jefferson (Jefferson, Oregon), McKay, McNary, North Salem, South Salem, West Salem.
There’s going to be prizes for the Top Three schools with the newest registrations during the event that features a one-month virtual training program (Provided by Lovely Strength and Conditioning), family style dinner (Provided by Basil and Board) and 15-percent off Spikes/Event shoes and 10-percent off Training Shoes provided by Gallagher Fitness Resources.
