SILVERTON, Ore.– Silverton’s David Gonzales has wrapped up his High School prep career with first-team State Honors after receiving Player of the Year and First-Team honors in the Mid-Willamette Conference this past Winter.
Foxes Head Coach Jamie McCarty knows how much Gonzales has worked, speaking to his Leadership-traits to help lead Silverton to a 25-1 overall record and reaching the second-straight year.
“He epitomized the word “Leader”. He stepped up in every way. Vocally, defensively, trusting in his teammates, as well as being a role model,” said McCarty. “Ever statistical category was improved on from the previous three seasons as well. 19 points a game and 5.5 assists per game and was second on the team in rebounding at 4.3 rebounds a game. So very proud of him and the legacy he will leave at Silverton High School.”
Gonzales will be attending Corban University next year.
