STAYTON, Ore.– Regis’ Jackson Nees will be taking his talents to Redding, California next season as the Senior Ram Baseball player committed to Shasta College back in February.
Nees hit .410 with 28 RBI’s, scored 50 runs and stole 35 bases as a Junior last year as he picked up unanimous first team selection as an outfielder before following it up with first-team honors at receiver this past Fall in Football. Nees was also named to the second team All-State squad as a Senior.
Regis Head Coach Kyle Baker spoke volumes of his outfielder, who spent the last three years on Varsity entering his Senior year, of his speed and the evolution of his bat entering the future.
“Jackson is one of the best defensive outfielders in the state. He can cover so much ground and gets great jumps on the ball. He has only gotten better coming off of his unanimous first team selection last season,” said Baker. “His hitting was coming on strong and was primed for a huge year. He has signed to play at Shasta College next year, and we wish him the best as his baseball career continues.”
“Jackson has earned the recognition with all his hard work, time, and dedication to the sport. He’s a great teammate on and off the field and always puts the team before himself. I can’t be more proud as a teammate and a friend,” adds teammate Bryce Campbell.
The Knights of Shasta went 7-17 in the shorten season overall, going 5-5 in the Golden Valley League before the season ended, winning three of their final four games of the year.
