SALEM, Ore.– Woodcreek.
The defending Sac-Joaquin Section Champions, the defending NorCal Champions and the 2017 Open-Division State Runner-Up.
Though the Timberwolves saw ESPN Top 100 Jordan Brown transfer to Prolific Prep before the season, Woodcreek sits at 5-2 entering the game with McNary High School.
The Celtics, the lone Salem school left in the Championship bracket after Sprague fell to CIF Powerhouse Mater Dei, found themselves battling with one of the Sacramento’s best team as it came down to literally the last second as Lucas Garvey hits a three-pointer to sent the game to overtime at 50.
In overtime though, Woodcreek took a 54-52 lead with two seconds remaining from a Chris Cage drive and lay-in for the lead.
The Celtics sent a heave from the opposite side of the court only to see the heave pushed away as the ‘Wolves and McNary went up for a contested pass at the buzzer.
