SALEM, Ore.– Mason Elliot had a team-high 24 points for the Storm Wednesday night as the freshman and Chemeketa held off a pushing Willamette University JV squad in the second half for the 98-73 win Wednesday night.
At one point in the second half, the Bearcats turned a 53-28 deficit to a 77-60 by the 7:07 mark of the final half before the Storm out-scored Willamette 21-13 to close out the game.
South Salem’s Jack Fraizer, Cascade’s Stepan Zavydovsky and the Saxons’ Jamel Merriweather and Eric McKinstry (Glencoe) all had a team-high six rebounds. Frazier, Merriweather and Zac Schmerber had team-highs in assist.
Frazier too had a team-high four steals as Zavydovsky had a team-high two blocks in the win.
Chemeketa will be at home Wednesday against Multnomah JV. Tip off is at 7pm.
