AMITY, Ore.– The Amity JV defense settled in after the Taft offense struck first on their opening drive to lead 6-0 as offensively, Seth Valencia helped the Warriors tie the game up at six-apiece entering the second quarter.
During the second 15-minute frame, it seemed as if Amity would pull away from the Tigers with a fumble recovery for a touchdown and a Levi Martin score up the Warriors up then 20-6.
That was, until Taft answered with two-straight scores to tie the score up 20-all and almost took a one-score lead into the halftime breather if it wasn’t for a last-second stop by the Amity defense that served as a wake-up call as the Warriors pulled away in the second-half for the 46-20 victory Monday evening.
