SALEM, Ore.– Everything was there for Withnell in their 10-7 victory over Roseburg Saturday.
The bats, the pitching, etc. but the errors allowed the game to be closer than it could’ve been with the game knotted up at 7 apiece entering with three of the Dodgers four errors occurring by the end of the Top half of the fifth inning of the game.
But, when they did get that under-control as they have with other faucets of the game, Withnell lived up to their potential as two Tori Doten’s RBI sacrifice flies led the offense with Max Long and Nick Orlandini both threw for three strikeouts to over the last four innings to help the Dodger defense settle in against the Doc Stewarts.
“I thought it was good to bounce back from the past couple of losses, I mean we’ve been doing good the past couple…going down to Grants Pass and this game, it’s good tune-ups to get us ready for the Dirtbags,” said Kaiden Doten who went 1-for-1 on the day.
Post 20, their rivals, are coming up for their three-game series starting Sunday as Withnell looks to spoil the Dirtbags aspirations to win the division with Post 20 in a dogfight with Corvallis and Mid-Valley for the Title.
“I think we’re looking real good, I think we’re going to be well-prepared,” said Doten.
Game one of the series is scheduled for 5pm at Western Oregon University.
