ALBANY, Ore.– In a tough way to end the season for the young yet growing North Salem team, North had Zach Goodwin take the mound in Game one and into the first few batters of the second game before Travis Burger came in for relief in the second game versus West Albany.
In that second game of the doubleheader, the Vikings had a triple play as Cameron Kallhoff caught a low-line drive as he tagged up on third for the double play, then the Kallhoff hummed the rawhide to Nick Raska for the third out of the inning as Raska threw it to second for good measure just in case his out wasn’t ‘counted.
The defense was stout as Hunter Sullivan, in his last two games as a North Salem athlete, make a diving catch in Game one and putting his body on the line for his team as the Viks held the Bulldogs to five total runs in two games Wednesday.
But their bats couldn’t land a run, falling 2-0 and 3-0 in their season finale as North Salem wrap up the season 5-17 and 4-12 in the Greater Valley Conference.
